What we use
We use one cookie and two items of local storage. None of them track you across other websites, and none are used for advertising.
Cookies
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
nb.session_token | Keeps you signed in to your account. It is httpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it. | Strictly necessary | Until the session expires or you sign out. In production it is also sent only over HTTPS. |
Local storage
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
nb-theme | Remembers whether you prefer the light or dark theme. | Until you clear it or change the setting. |
nb-welcome-dismissed | Remembers that you dismissed the welcome message, so it does not show again. | Until you clear it. |
Why there is no consent banner
A consent banner is required for cookies and storage that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics and advertising. We use none of those. The session cookie is strictly necessary to run the service, and the two local preferences store only your own choices on your own device. So no consent banner is needed.
How to clear them
Signing out removes the session cookie. You can clear the local preferences from the site-data settings in your browser for NestBytes, or by clearing cookies and site data for this site. Clearing them simply resets the theme and shows the welcome message again. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your data more generally.
